Most of us are unaware of our true potential. We carry within us reservoirs of strength, intelligence, creativity and possibility that we have barely begun to explore.
To unlock this potential, the first step is to imagine and visualise what is possible. Everything is created twice—first in the mind and then in reality. But imagining alone is not enough. It must be followed by committed action—giving our best, stepping beyond our comfort zone, and being willing to take the road less travelled. That is when we begin to discover what we are truly capable of.
You Have the Power to Uplift Your Life
You have the power to uplift your life. Yet whenever we feel low, insecure or unhappy, we tend to forget an important truth: we are not alone. There is a divine intelligence that sustains and supports life—and “Soham” reminds us: I am That. I too am a part of that divine power. When we begin to internalise this idea, our confidence and sense of inner strength can rise dramatically.
One of the deepest sources of stress in our lives is the feeling that “I am not enough.” This insecurity often leads to low self-confidence and constant comparison with others. There will always be someone who appears more successful, more interesting, healthier, better connected, or seemingly happier. If we measure our worth against others, we will inevitably feel inadequate.
You Are Already Complete
No matter whether people look at the plant or not, it continues to grow… Right? Wake up! Don't crave for attention, approval, and appreciation from others. Know that you are self-radiating. You are full. You are complete. Relax. Kick the begging bowl. Repose in the Self.
— Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
This points to a profound spiritual truth. Our worth does not depend upon the attention, approval, or appreciation of others. The Upanishadic affirmation “Aham Brahmasmi” — I am Brahman — expresses an even deeper dimension: our essential nature is not separate from the universal consciousness of which we are a part.
Each of us is a microcosm of the universe. Our limited mind may struggle to comprehend this, but our essence is connected to the larger whole. We are not fundamentally incomplete beings constantly seeking validation from outside; we already carry within us the potential for growth, strength and fulfilment.
You are a creation of the Divine. Trust that creation. Trust your potential.
Choose to be courageous, confident, powerful and worthy—not because you are better than others, but because you recognise the possibilities that already exist within you.
Don't underestimate what you can become. Believe in your potential—and give it the opportunity to unfold.
A Living Example: Arunima Sinha
Circumstances are a starting point, not a destination
Arunima Sinha’s story is a remarkable example of what can happen when we refuse to accept the limits imposed by circumstances. A national-level volleyball player, she lost her leg after being thrown from a moving train while resisting a robbery attempt.
What could have become the end of her sporting dreams instead became the beginning of an extraordinary new journey. She decided to climb Mount Everest with a prosthetic leg—and in 2013, she became the first female amputee to summit Mount Everest.
Her achievement is a powerful reminder: our circumstances may define our starting point, but they do not have to define our destination. Sometimes, discovering our potential begins precisely when life takes us beyond everything we thought was possible.
